Joop van Raam (dec.) from The Netherlands has compiled and updated all the references on modern and fossil charophytes. This information is available for general use and will be updated twice a year..

18th Meeting of the Group of European Charophytologists (GEC),
Pozna, Poland, 15-18 September 2011

The next meeting of the Group of European Charophytologists will be organized by Mariusz Pelechaty, Andrzej Pukacz, Joanna Krupska, Maciej Gabka and Jacek Urbaniak at the Department of Hydrobiology (in Poznan) & Collegium Polonicum (in Slubice), Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU), Poland during September 2011.

2008

5th IRGC Symposium, Rostock, Germany, 23-26 September 2008
The meeting was organised by Prof. Hendrik Schubert (University of Rostock) and Dr Irmgard Blindow (University of Greifswald), including scientific sessions, workshops and two excursions to collect extant and fossil charophytes. It was attended by more than 80 participants from 25 different countries. All continents (with the exception of Africa) were represented.
